On Death and Cosmos is a 20 minute mini concept EP that develops through three songs: Black Prism, Raqia and Stardust Rain, creating some of the most intense and mournful music EPHEL DUATH has ever offered. The main lyrics line is about death and abandonment, loss and self- transforming will: a dive into the darkness, that can reveal a new birth in light.

Over the course of the 20th band anniversary, Canadian death metal legends KATAKLYSM will release a DVD/CD package entitled “Iron Will: 20 Years Determined” via Nuclear Blast this summer. The bundle contains both a documentary movie portraying the band’s turbulent career with all its ups and downs and a filmed live recording of the entire show at last year’s Summer Breeze Festival in Dinkelsbühl, Germany.

Moreover, a best-of record is included, on which – apart from the best KATAKLYSM songs of the past 20 years – the brand-new, yet unreleased song “Iron Will“ can be found.

DECAPITATED guitarist Wacław “Vogg” Kiełtyka shares: “Our new video for ‘Homo Sum’ is totally different than the previous one and really simple, but with the same energy! Check this out!”

Vocalist Rafał “Rasta” Piotrowski adds: “It was great to record this video in Kraków with our good friends. Great atmosphere + good mood + hours of moshing equals COOL VIDEO CLIP! I really like the song. It’s a straight-punch-to-the-face, that’s why it works in black and white. There are no colorful stories inside, no bullshit – just mosh!!!”

“Homo Sum” comes off the band’s 2011 album „Carnival Is Forever“.

Ancient Egypt-themed Death Metal act NILE have just revealed the [...]

Ancient Egypt-themed Death Metal act NILE have just revealed the cover artwork of their upcoming album: ‘’At The Gate Of Sethu’’. Artwork was handled this time by a true genius of darkened visuals, Seth Siro Anton (Soilwork, Paradise Lost, SepticFlesh).

Band mastermind Karl Sanders commented, “Seth Siro Anton has designed the cover. I have been a fan of SEPTIC FLESH a long time, and as Seth expressed interest, I knew that he would deliver a great job. I would say his work is easily the best we’ve ever had. He has captured the darker side of the sound of NILE and reflected the music and ideas, the heart and soul of Nile are forming. Seth is a very talented man and understands exactly who we are. “

Seth Siro Anton states, “It is no secret that I admire the powerful stylistic lines of the magical symbols that still transmit the aura of ancient Egypt, preserving in time the ancient mysteries. Also, I am fascinated from the final frozen moment of the flesh captured in an eternal sleeping stasis, at the completion of the mummification process. So, with a great pleasure I accepted the challenge, to visualize the new masterpiece of Nile ‘’At the gate of Sethu’’.

‘’At the gate of Sethu’’ will be released June 29, 2012 via Nuclear Blast.

French maniacs of VORKREIST are back with their 4th album, [...]

French maniacs of VORKREIST are back with their 4th album, Sigil Whore Christ – coming out April 24th in Europe and May 22nd in North America.

The band refers to the album as catchy as hell, brutal as fuck, and still with this overwhelming feeling of sickness. Judging that a little dose of adrenaline can’t harm even the most sensitive ears, we sincerely hope that the vile and unclean metal that VORKREIST presents will rip your hearing and get your adrenaline going on rapidly!

Recorded at Drudenhaus (Alcest, Les Discrets), the band managed to reach the exact sound they needed for their release: both powerful and dirty. This is truly a new age – comments Vorkreist – new label, new logo, strongest identity. VORKREIST is about to make a decisive step in its career.

LINE UP :

Saint Vincent : Vocals
A.K. : Guitars
EsX : Guitars
LSK : Bass guitar
Dave Terror : Drums

VORKREIST is a band widely active in French black/death metal scene with over 12 years of experience. The band has a solid stage reputation & performances with Belphegor, Dodheimsgard, Kaamos, Ofermod, Code, Kampfar among many others. Includes members of Hell Militia, Secrets of the Moon, Blacklodge, Diapsiquir, Glorior Belli, Merrimack and ex-Antaeus.
Strong recommendation for fans of Secrets of the Moon, Morbid Angel, Mayhem, Bolt Thrower, Arkhon Infaustus and Satyricon! Upcoming live appearances over Europe in 2012 – already confirmed appearance at Deathkult Open Air.

Sigil Whore Christ will be available as a noble digipack CD, heavy 180g black vinyl and limited gold vinyl with red splatter. First press comes with exclusive poster.
