Hot! Black Metal Krieg- Keeping the dark era high…

Black Metal Krieg is perhaps the only Blackmetal support initiative annual fest that takes place in India every winter. This festival is organized by a Mumbai-based Blackmetal band, Stark Denial in association with Frameshift Initiatives, an event management company.

First ever Black Metal Krieg happened at B69 by BAJAAO in Mumbai on 26th December 2010, where, four darkest bands of the Indian Sub-continent came together and participated. Bands which participated were – Spiked Crib from Mumbai, Dhishti from Sri Lanka, 1833 AD from New Delhi, and Stark Denial from Mumbai. It attracted a huge crowd of nearly 200 people.  After a phenomenal success of this fest, everyone gathered again for another lethal gig at the same venue, B69 by BAJAAO. Black Metal Krieg II was held on 21st January 2012 which created a lot of excitement around the entire theme. New, young and underground bands from the roots of Indian Blackmetal were given a chance to perform. Krieg II also gave the Blackmetal armies a flavor of their self-created doom-influenced music. Some of them were – Cosmic Infusion, a symphonic blackmetal act from Mumbai, Dark Desolation, pure Satanic Blackmetal outfit from Bangalore, Insane Prophecy, blackened-death metal act hailing from Assam. Rest of the line up remained same as the 1st year of Black Metal Krieg. The crowd headbanged with the dark and evil occult music by the bands. Pure darkness was experienced by the people!

It’s a feeling of pride that the roots of Blackmetal subculture are been brought to limelight. Black Metal Krieg’s mission is to promote Blackmetal as much as they can. Such events help creating more buzz for this genre of music in the country. The forgotten trend and the forgotten spirit of Blackmetal is again seeing a rise in the unholy minds of all metalheads.

One can experience the best live Blackmetal thing over there at Black Metal Krieg. Fortunately, both of the seasons have managed to gather a decent crowd chanting to Burzum and Mayhem covers by the bands from last two consecutive years. People who attended thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. Black Metal Krieg is the best example of purest of darkness personification over the stage. Be it depressive, mainstream, or satanic, all of the moods were showcased with that trippy, and dark atmosphere. There were photographers; there were people from overseas who travelled all the way to India to experience perhaps the best LIVE blackmetal gig of India.

People are eagerly waiting for the next season. I am sure that BMK III will feature something more innovative in the coming years.

Horns up for Black Metal Krieg!!!
