Roy Khan Officially Announces His Departure From Kamelot.
Norwegian singer Roy Khan has officially announced his departure from the Melodic metal band Kamelot. He had the following to say on his departure from the band :
“Dear fans and friends,
“There have been a lot of speculations around why I am not touring with Kamelot and I want to make a statement although it may not prevent further guessing as to what’s actually going on. It is a fact, however, that I told the guys in the band already last fall (well after my burnout) that I was leaving the band. Naturally enough, they were shocked (as was the label and everyone else working with Kamelot). In addition to risk of dropping ticket sales, they wanted to give me time to think things over, and so I did. My decision still stands; it is finished.
“I am currently spending time with my family in Norway taking it easy and wondering profoundly what the future is going to bring. Communication with the outer world has been so and so, but I have had several talks with Thomas [Youngblood, Kamelot guitarist/mainman] along the way, although I am still called in sick.
“I am terribly sorry that my decision is affecting so many others and I want you to know I wish the band and associates all the best for the future and that I enjoyed every second in the spotlight. How could I not?! They were nourished by the best fans in the world!
“I am eternally thankful for everything you and Kamelot have given me and equally sorry that it has to end here. The good news is; God was there after all…
“Love you to death!!!”
P.S. – It seems leaving a band is in trend now. Haven’t there been so many this week.
Sad that your leaving Kamelot. You were probably my biggest reason for loving the band, and i suspect it’s that way for thousands of others. I hope you will still continue to make songs. Lykke til!
Just when I found “Ghost of the Opera” and actually found out who sung this song… You left! I didn’t even get to see you in concert.
I truly respect your decision, and hopefully you may one day return. You have such a voice that suits the band, and your wife.. beautiful beautiful voice.
Hey dude , well im pretty upset about this cause you guys were my favorite, but i cant make a dicision for you, and if i were you i would do exactly the same as what your doing , your a goood awsome guy and your voice is amazing dude , also your wifes voice .but i apreciate and want to thank you for being in this band and entertaining me alot i am always singing kamelot songs here and there, haha, but thouasands of others will misss you alot expecialyy all your fans that love your music with kamelot, and i hope you have a wonderful time in norway with your loved family and when your reading this always be the man who you are cause you are now with your family , and one thing i wanted to go to one of your concerts but i never did
, but i am not mad at you and no one should not be,this is what you have chosen

Yeah, thats the best thing that could happen in this year no one likes him cause he thinks that is the best, he is a fucking diva, he doesnt deserve metal fans
